Where it began

The first prototype was already in use, and the build of Sakura had just begun.
Lexmy and I both like spreadsheets, keeping track of things, and a reason to celebrate. After we became a couple we counted the weeks, and soon we wanted more reasons than the calendar gives: the tenth meditation, the 25th night together. So we built an app for them.
Sakura is Japanese for cherry blossom; the trees bloom for one to two weeks a year, and in Japan people gather under them while they do. A tradition called hanami. It celebrates beautiful moments because they don't last.
Before the app had a name, we were already sending each other photos of the flowers we passed, and our relationship in Sakura has an activity called Flowers.

Questions
What is Sakura?
An app for couples. You add the things you do together, and Sakura notices when they add up: the fifth walk, the 50th film night, 1000 days since the day you met.
Who can see what we add?
Only the two of you. No feed, no followers, no ads. So you can include all your secret adventures ๐
Can I start without my partner?
Yes. Everything works for one person. Invite your partner whenever you like.
How does my partner join?
Send them an invite link from the app. They make their own account, and see everything you have added so far.
Which phones does it work on?
Any smartphone with an up-to-date browser and an internet connection. It also works on a computer, but it is made for your phone.
Do I need an app store?
No. Sakura runs in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen.
Can we add photos?
Yes. A moment can have photos and a note.
Which numbers does Sakura notice?
5, 10 and 25, and every tenfold of them: 50, 100, 250, and on. You can add numbers of your own too, like a lucky 7, or 42 for your film nights. Sakura notices those as well, for all your activities or just one.
What does it cost?
Nothing, for now. It may cost something later; the terms say so before you sign up.
Why is there room for only 50 relationships?
Sakura is a small, independent project, with room for 50 relationships. Your partner joins yours, so an invite always gets in.
Can we take everything with us?
Yes. Download everything in one file, whenever you like: a folder with all your photos, and every moment, activity, collection and date you added.
What happens if I delete my account?
Your account is gone straight away. What you shared stays with your partner; once neither of you is left, your moments and photos go too.
